Rules
All regular soccer rules apply, except as noted below.
- No Slide tackles.
- Call your own fouls/ no refs.
This is based on the spirit of sportsmanship. A foul must be called by a player who is on the field at the time of the foul, and not a player who is 'on the bench'. A called foul is to be respected by the teams, even when questionable. It is expected that this will not be abused, but that a foul called will be out of respect for the game and the other team. Fouls I side the box will result in a penalty kick. - No offsides.
- Goal kicks
Goal kicks taken do not need to exit the penalty area, in order to be fielded by the same team. Kicks cannot cross the half field line directly in the air, but must touch a player or the ground before crossing half field. - Goalie possession/release
When a goalie gains possession with his/her hands the following rules apply: The ball must be released within 6 seconds. The goalie can release the ball to his/her self, but the goal kick rules then apply. The goalie cannot release the ball to themselves and then kick the ball directly over half. It must touch another player or the ground before crossing the half line. Punts and throws also follow the same rule. - Shin guards must be worn by all players. First violation of this rule results in a verbal warning. A second violation results in ejection from that game. A third violation of the same player will result in ejection from the league.
